Happy Easter

Well after a fairly quiet spring break, I was glad to get back to school. Bethany on the other hand did not even notice the difference since she had no break, and it was business as usual at her office. I am now working dutifully on 2 take home exams that are due on Friday, and the following Wednesday. One is for behavior of metal structures class, and not all that difficult, but the other, for Finite Element Analysis class is a real treat. For those of you not familiar with that, I will just say that the exam is a monster requiring a the assembly of a 16 x 16 matrix by integrating smaller matrices. It is in fact, so much fun that this monster test has already eaten 10+ pages of calculations and the better part of a day's work. Thankfully, while I am working on these tests, research is in a bit of a lull because we finally are ordering things, and right now my work mainly consists of calling suppliers and waiting for things to be ready.

Last weekend, in celebration of the easter holiday Bethany made a rather impressive meal for the two of us after church. We had a proper easter dinner complete with pinapple ham, potatos, green been caserole, and orange-candied yams. I was truly impressed. It is also finally getting nice around here, and been in the 40's to 50's most days. Beth likes this because it means that I can start riding my bike to the lab again and stop stealing the car from her. I hope that evreything is going well out back home. We are anxiously looking forward to seeing all of our friends at weddings this summer.

Brian,

You warm my heart. You are so sweet to be impressed by your new wife's abilities.

And Beth, kudos to you for making a special dinner for just two. It's a lot of work, but so nice.

And thanks for the photo of the dishes. I love the pattern -- so elegant and yet so simple, too. Very beautiful...
